London museums: The National Portrait Gallery was founded in
1856 and has more than 1,000 portraits of British personages ranging from Henry
VII to Queen Elizabeth II. Its collection also includes some 10,000 other
drawings, watercolors, sculptures, miniatures, and photographs.
