Spain - Balearics - Formentera
Formentera is only four miles (about
6½ km) from Ibiza, but its ambience is light
years away from Ibiza's techno and party scene. The island, which is roughly
the shape of a T-bone, is populated mostly by farmers, a few hundred seasonal expatriates from
Northern Europe, and tourists--including nudists--who come for the relaxed
atmosphere and unspoiled beaches.
To reach Formentera, you'll need to catch the
ferry to La Savina (the local port) from Ibiza. Once you arrive, you can rent
two- or four-wheeled transportation to get around the island.
